For those keeping up with the eastern Idaho business scene, this week brings an exciting development. Ferrell's, a staple for men's fashion, has found a new home, and it's creating a buzz in the community.
The Move: A Strategic Decision
After seven years at their previous location, Ferrell's has relocated to a new building near the Grand Teton Mall in Idaho Falls. The owners, Dana and Teneal Wright, had several compelling reasons for this move. But here's where it gets interesting... It's not just about the space; it's about the customer experience.
The new location offers a larger sales floor, allowing Ferrell's to showcase more of their stylish apparel. But the real game-changer is the improved accessibility. The previous location, according to Dana, had a less-than-ideal layout, causing some customers to turn away. But this new spot has multiple entrances and exits, making it a breeze for shoppers to come and go.
A Tailored Experience
Kristi Eldridge, Ferrell's talented in-house tailor, will continue to provide her expert services at the new location. This ensures that customers can still enjoy the personalized touch that Ferrell's is known for.
A Legacy of Style
Ferrell's has a rich history in the community. It has been a go-to for young men preparing for missions with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. While they've built a reputation on men's dress suits, the store is evolving. Dana reveals that suit rentals will soon be an option, catering to a wider range of customer needs.
A Journey Through Time and Space
The Wrights' journey has been quite the adventure. They moved into their previous location on South 25th East in 2019, a significant shift from their 68-year stint at 417 West Broadway. But the story goes back even further. Dave Anderson founded Ferrell's in 1950, and before that, it was located several blocks east, where Destinations Inn stands today. Teneal's connection to the store is deep-rooted; she grew up working there and, along with Dana, purchased the business from her father, Brent Tueller, in 2018.
A New Beginning for an Old Space
The building on Broadway has its own story. It was sold to local contractor Jayce Powell in 2019, who renovated it. After sitting vacant for years, it has recently found new life with Justin and Valerie Miller, who plan to launch a business there. The details are still under wraps, but stay tuned for an in-depth reveal!
A Neighborhood of Men's Fashion
Dana is thrilled about the new location's proximity to other men's stores. Ferrell's is now nestled between Work Wear House and Bob's Indoor Golf, creating a one-stop shop for men's needs. It's a strategic move that benefits both Ferrell's and its neighbors.
The Grand Re-Opening
The Wrights worked with Randy Waters of SVN High Desert Commercial to secure their new space. They're planning a grand re-opening in April, inviting the community to celebrate this new chapter. Ferrell's will maintain its regular hours, ensuring customers can continue to shop from 10 AM to 6 PM, Monday through Saturday.
And Now, for Something Sweet...
In other news, Clean Juice in Idaho Falls is offering a sweet treat to combat the post-Super Bowl slump. On Monday, they're giving away free berry acai bowls, packed with nutrients and flavor. It's a perfect pick-me-up after the big game.
Stay in the Know
Don't miss out on other exciting developments in the area. Kingpot Korean BBQ & Hot Pot is closing to make way for a new restaurant, a Mexican food truck in Rexburg is going brick-and-mortar, and Idaho Falls Pediatrics is expanding its reach. Plus, a local garden seed supplier has been recognized as Idaho's Small Business of the Month by Senator Jim Risch.
