Graphene's thermal conductivity is a marvel, but its practical application as bulk composites has been a challenge. The solution? Inverse Phase Enhancement (IPE) strategy. This innovative approach, developed by a team of researchers from China, has led to the creation of high-performance graphene paper (IPE-GP) with impressive strength and thermal conductivity. By using a minimal amount of polymer resin (5.9%), the team has successfully enhanced the tensile strength of graphene laminated papers by 117% to 63.3 MPa. When scaled into bulk composite laminates, the material achieved an astonishing in-plane thermal conductivity of 802 W/m·K, an order of magnitude higher than conventional polymer composites. This breakthrough has the potential to revolutionize advanced thermal management, particularly in high-power electronic cooling and impact-resistant thermal armor. The IPE strategy's unique approach to reinforcing graphene layers with minimal polymer content is a game-changer, offering a new perspective on the future of thermal management materials.
